What you need to know:

Zimula had opened the scoring with a low drive after goalkeeper Joel Mutagobwa parried the ball into his path in what was a poor Soana performance.

Kampala. Four days can be a long time in football. Michael Birungi was the villain when Express lost 4-3 to Police at Namboole Stadium on Saturday in the Azam Uganda Premier League.
At Wankulukuku yesterday he was the hero as Express thrashed Soana 4-0 to raise hope at the relegation-threatened giants.
While the result was not enough to take them out of the bottom three, they did move off the bottom of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).
The Red Eagles are within one point of UPDF who sit just above the three relegation spots.

The army side can, however, alter that should they win their game today at home to the Caterpillars of Onduparaka.
Express though will take pride in the result that will lift the mood at the club following the 4-3 loss to Police. Birungi will be most pleased, with the win sure to banish memories of his glaring miss in the previous game.

He scored a brace including a lob that gave Express a 2-0 half time lead. He then turned in Julius Ntambi’s right wing cross on the hour before Jalilu Zimula’s freekick was bundled home by Ayub Kisalita for the fourth.

The result moved Proline bottom of the log after drawing goalless away to Bright Stars.
