KAMPALA.

The stage has been set for an apparent battle between SC Villa president Ben Misagga and the club’s fans after the sacking of Shafik Bisaso as the club’s head coach yesterday.

The former Proline boss was yesterday relieved of his duties after 11 league games and five months in charge of the Villa Park side.
“We have relieved Bisaso of his duties for involving himself in club politics. Wasswa Bbosa will take temporary charge until we find a suitable replacement,” Misagga told the Daily Monitor yesterday.

The move is however, likely to be met with stiff resistance from the club’s fans who waved placards in support of Bisaso during their 2-2 draw with Lweza on Saturday.

The coach had at the time been given a one match ultimatum following two earlier draws with Bright Stars and JMC Hippos.
But as Misagga backtracked on his decision, the fans in a meeting held at Villa Park on Monday, vowed not to allow Bbosa, unveiled as associate coach earlier this month take charge citing his past relationship with rivals Express.

The move forced the club to relocate its training sessions to Nakivubo Stadium.

Bbosa becomes the third coach at the helm of Villa this season following the earlier sacking Deo Sserwada and eighth under Misagga’s four-year reign thus far.

Villa are currently second on the Azam Uganda Premier League log with 34 points from 18 games, one behind leaders KCCA who have played two games less.
