City gun for three points

City welcome back forwards David Silva and Sergio Aguero after injury for today’s crunch fixture against champions Bayern Munich.
Manuel Pellegrini has promised to go toe to toe with Pep Guardiola in Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at the Etihad Stadium.
Having been handed a huge boost with the return of playmaker David SIlva to the squad, Pellegrini is determined to go for all three points against the Champions League holders and favourites. He said: ‘Yes it was very important to win the first game but the second thing is to win the games at home.
‘Bayern are very strong but we are also in a good moment so we can get the three points.
‘Of course I always expect that. We have started the Champions League very well and it’s important we continue. ‘This is the most difficult game and we need a high performance. I’m sure we will see that. ‘We never think about a draw. It’s better to draw than lose but we are not thinking that. We are not looking for a draw. We will go for three points. ‘I think tomorrow we need to play 90 minutes in the best way. We know that every mistake we make could lead to a goal. It’s important we concentrate.’
City will welcome back forwards David Silva and Sergio Aguero tomorrow after injury.
Centre forward Edin Dzeko is also in contention and he has put his improved form this season down to the relationship he has developed with Pellegrini.
Dzeko said: ‘Yes I have said this before. ‘It is important that the players get the confidence of the coach as it can change everything. ‘But a lot of the speculation came from the media. ‘You never heard the club saying they wanted to sell me and you never saw me say I wanted to leave. ‘With the new manager we are trying to play aggressive, quick, attacking football. ‘You saw that against Manchester United so why shouldn’t you see the same thing in this game?
‘The club is improving. It’s bringing in a new players and a new manager. We have been together for a while now. ‘But we have four new players and they have improved the squad. We are definitely better than last year.’
City were beaten 2-0 by Bayern in the group stages at the Allianz Arena in 2011, but SIlva and Yaya Toure netted a goal apiece at the Etihad to seal their revenge. Under Roberto Mancini last season, Man City failed to make it out of the group.
