Community shield line ups: Alexis starts for Arsenal, Hart dumped for City
FA Cup winners Arsenal collide with premier league champions Manchester City to decide the Community Shield game.
The Gunners will take part in the new season curtain raiser for the first time since 2006 after ending their trophy drought last season, while Manchester City will be the opponents after lifting the Premier League title.
As expected, with the season about to begin in a week’s time, Arsenal have started a strong side against Pellegrini's boys.
Arsene Wenger is without his World Cup winning trio of Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesakcer and Lukas Podolski but Arsenal fans will get a chance to see new signings Calum Chambers, Mathieu Debuchy and Alexis Sanchez and they all start.
Meanwhile, ENGLAND No.1 Joe Hart is named on the bench by Manuel Pellegrini for the Community Shield against Arsenal at Wembley with new signing Willy Cabellero starting in goal for Manchester City.
City hand debuts to Caballero and Fernando, but are still without their Argentinian contingent Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta and Martin Demichelis as well as captain Vincent Kompany.
Frank Lampard was expected to be in the squad, but is not among the City subs. New signing Bruno Zuculini is however included.
Arsenal: Szczesny, Debuchy, Koscielny, Chambers, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey, Alexis, Cazorla, Sanogo
Subs: Martinez, Monreal, Flamini, Campbell, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Giroud
Manchester City: Caballero, Clichy, Boyata, Nastasic, Kolarov, Navas, Fernando, Toure (c), Nasri, Jovetic, Dzeko
Subs: Hart, Richards, Rekik, Milner, Sinclair, Silva, Zuculini
UPDATE
20: Arsenal lead 1-0: Alexis Sanchez and Sanogo pull of some great corporation setting Cazorla free. Carzola then lets the ball run across his body and fires through Caballero!
