Kampala. There were three surprise additions as the Cranes technical team summoned 22 players in preparation for next month’s 2015 Nations Cup qualifying game against Equatorial Guinea.

Midfielders William Wadri, Muzamir Mutyaba and Murushid Jjuko were given a chance to make their national debuts after impressive performances for their respective clubs.

Wadri was an ever present fixture for his KCC side as they reclaimed the league and scored in his side’s 2-all draw as they lost the Uganda cup final to URA 4-2 on penalties.

Mutyaba and Jjuko meanwhile starred as Sports Club Victoria University won the inaugural Cecafa Nile Basin Cup in Sudan earlier this month. There is also a return to the team for striker Azam striker Brian Umony while midfielder Hassan Wasswa is dropped after a poor first leg display in Madagascar. The team also includes Robert Odongkara Isaac Isinde, Emmanuel Okwi and Hamis Kiiiza, who are yet to join their respective clubs for pre-season training.

As part of their preparations, the Cranes squad will also play two games against select regional sides starting with Mbarara next weekend.
