Fifa president set for Lugogo match

KAMPALA. Fifa President Gianni Infantino will have a chance to watch Ugandan football raw talent on Saturday when he heads to Lugogo stadium to watch KCCA U-17 play Lweza U-17 in an organized friendly match.
According to his schedule released by Fufa yesterday, Infantino will engage President Yoweri Museveni at State House upon his arrival tomorrow at 6pm before embarking on more football related activities on Saturday.
He is also set to meet stakeholders like sponsors, opinion leaders, football partners, delegates, UPL chairmen and special interest groups, active players and ex-internationals on was has been described as a developmental visit by Fufa.
“Football needs such contacts for the sport to grow. Ugandan football will not be the same after his visit. It is a great moment for Ugandan football,” Fufa boss Moses Magogo revealed while confirming Infantino’s visit recently.
“We are happy that he is here to open the Kadiba Goal Project which we believe will help Uganda football grow,” said Humphrey Mandu, the deputy Fufa CEO, as he rolled out the programme yesterday.
Infantino, 47, is on a week-long visit to Africa, the second of its kind since he was elected to head the world’s governing football body in February last year.

Friday
· Infantino arrives at 6pm and welcomed by Government and Fufa officials
· Heads to State House Entebbe to meet President Yoweri Museveni, Education and Sports Minister and NCS
Saturday
• Meets Excom members at Serena Hotel
•Breakfast meeting with sponsors, opinion leaders, football partners, delegates, UPL chairmen and special interest groups
• Heads to Lugogo stadium to meet players, ex-internationals. retired and active referees and watching KCCA U-17 vs Lweza U-17 friendly match.
•Heads to Kadiba grounds for ground breaking of the Fifa goal project.
• Speaks to media at Ivys Hotel after touring Fufa offices in Mengo and jetting out at 1:30pm.
