Former Vipers coach Nsimbe sets lofty targets after replacing Nkata

Kampala.

George “Best” Nsimbe knows all too well how the success of one Ugandan can increase opportunities for other country mates.
While in his last coaching stint at a foreign club, Nsimbe was given an opportunity to choose his assistant for Tanzanian side Azam.

Despite his preferred options turning down the opportunities Nsimbe was also quick to sign winger Brian Majwega from former club KCCA.
Over the weekend, the soft-spoken tactician also got to benefit from his country-mate’s success by replacing Paul Nkata at Kenyan champions Tusker on a two-year deal.

“The target is to of course try to retain the league title and qualifying for the group stages of the Caf Champions League,” he stated.

Nsimbe who was sacked alongside Abdallah Mubiru by Vipers at the start of this month quickly reiterated his desire to add to the squad. “The squad is good but I am looking to add at least a striker and defensive midfielder,” he added of the team that already consists of established Kenyan stars such as Allan Wanga and Jesse Were. The club which won the league and cup double is also home to Ugandans Shafik Batambuze, Hashim Sempala and Robert Omunuk.

Nsimbe has previously won Uganda league titles with KCCA in 2008, 2013, 2014 as well as the Uganda Cup with Victors in 2010.

After leaving Azam in August last year, he joined league side Saints a month later before moving to Vipers in February this year and guiding them to the Uganda Cup title.
