Gulu University have booked themselves a place in the Nile Special University Football League quarterfinals, after playing out a 2-2 with Busitema yesterday.
The result means the Gulu-based side go through to the next stage having finished fourth in Group B on four points.
The game started cautiously, but not for long as Constantine Ochwo blasted in an effort from 25 yards out in the 22nd minute before adding an`other in the 85th minute.
Gulu looked by far the more confident side, and Busitema appeared increasingly unlikely to match them in their own backyard.
A particularly bright Nicholas Alinganyira made for an exceptional moment though, cutting inside and leaving Gulu looking exposed for a rare moment before pulling off a brace in the 4th and 81st minutes.
In the other game, Ndejje University shared spoils with Kampala International University (KIU). KIU’s Farouk Banga finished coolly from Ismail Kagingo’s cross to put his team in a commanding position in the 53th minute before Stephen Ategeka responded in the 86th minute.
