KCCA allow Ochaya to have trials with PSL side Bidvest Wits

Ochaya is focused on sealing the Wits deal

KAMPALA. There are higher chances that reigning Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL) champions KCCA will start their title defence without their best player, Joseph Ochaya, after he was granted the green light to travel to South Africa for trials with Premier Soccer League side (PSL) Bidvest Wits.
KCCA CEO David Tamale disclosed to Daily Monitor yesterday that Ochaya will head to South Africa on Thursday for the three-week trial with the Johannesburg-based franchise. “We are hoping he can get the deal afterwards. They (Wits) wrote to asking for his services and we hope all goes well for him,” Tamale said.

Wits Chief CEO, Jonathan Schloss, sent the invitation letter of invitation to KCCA to have Ochaya do trials with the club for 21 days. This would be Ochaya’s third attempt at professional soccer having played in Ghana and Vietnam.
The KCCA Player of the Year says he is ready to make the most of his ‘third calling’. “I have worked had to get this chance,” said Ochaya.
“I am focused and know what to do once I get there.”
KCCA manager Mike Mutebi will turn to new signing Brian Majwega to replace Ochaya if the deal finally goes through.
