Kampala University, in their debut season, need victory against Mbarara to secure the title.

Nkumba vs. Makerere
Kampala University (KU) coach, Vincent Tumusiime, believes his team deserve to win the University Football League title because they are playing the best game. KU only need a win in their final match to clinch the championship in their debut season. “I guess no team in the league has played better football than us,” Tumusiime said ahead of his team’s away trip to Mbarara University of Science and Technology (Must) tomorrow.
KU could have won the title last week but gave away a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 at Villa Park to fellow contenders Nkumba University.
That defeat, the only one in the season, left KU on 32 points, just one ahead of Nkumba.
While Nkumba will also go into their last game - against Makerere - with a narrow chance of winning the title, victory for them won’t be any significant if KU win.
“The title is in our hands now,” Tumusiime noted. I am confident we are winning it on the last day,” explained Tumusiime.
Nkumba striker Faisal Muwawu, has however, said his team can still lift the title. In yesterday’s action, KIU defeated Ndejje 2-0 with both goals from Ismail Kagingo.
