KAMPALA- Kampala University (KU) defeated Kampala International University (KIU) 2-1 at Villa Park on Friday to stretch their lead at the top of University Football League (UFL) log to four points.
KU didn’t have their best match of the campaign but it mattered less as they took maximum points courtesy of Derrick Mudali’s 74th minute winner.
Mudali expertly converted a free-kick to ensure KU ascended to 23 points, four more than second Makerere University Business School (Mubs), who were humbled by Ndejje 2-1 on Wednesday.
Earlier KIU striker Isaac Eshioke had cancelled out Eriku Anguyo’s 19th-minute opener.
“We deserved to win,” KU coach Vincent ‘Titi Kamara’ Tumusiime said after the match.
“My players were disciplined and they played to the script. We are going to bed now as our focus is on the next games.” KIU remain fourth without an away win since the second round kicked off.
