The Kids of Arua booked a place in the National championship finals of the City Tyres Chenga Challenge following a 1-0 win over Nebbi Junior FC 1-0.
The West Nile regional finals were played at Arua Public Primary School playground.
The Kids of Arua had eliminated Koboko 1-0 in the semifinals with a solitary strike from Francis Echoni while Nebbi eliminated Onduparaka Academy on penalties after a goalless draw in normal time. They won 4-2 to book a final slot with hosts Arua Kids.
Mubarak Kakooza scored for Arua three minutes to time to send the home fans into delirium.
The victorious side took home a trophy and a cheque of Shs700,000.
The best goalkeeper of the regional finals was Onduparaka Academy’s Vincent Ondia while MVP honours went to Francis Echon from Kids of Arua.
Other teams which took part included Lai Youngesters-Maracha, Nebbi Junior, Yumber Football Academy and Koboko.
The Kids of Arua now qualify for the national championships due August in Masaka district.
