KAMPALA- The 2013/2014 Nile Special Super 8 Rugby Premiership faces a huge anti climax today as the title has already been claimed by DMark Kobs.
The latter took home the ‘holy grail’ with a couple of games today. The relegation spots are also as good as known thus giving the fans a final day with no drama to anticipate. New champions Kobs, who will be crowned at the end of their rubber against Toyota Buffaloes at Legends, will be hoping end with an unbeaten record.
Kobs wing Justin Kimono will also be hoping he can seize the chance for most tries scored by a player in a league. The record is currently held by retired Kobs wing Allan Musoke, who touched down 22 times in the 2009 campaign. Kimono is one try away from owning the feat.
“It will be great snatching a record from my idol,” said the 21-year-old Rugby Cranes international. “But it’s not on my mind at the moment. I am focusing on winning the game for my team.”
In the early kick off at Legends, G4S Pirates host Mongers, a team that rallied to beat them in the first round. Pirates’ win over Warriors last weekend was the most defining moment of their season as it ensured they can side step the relegation monster.
