Kampala. Kyambogo opened their quest for a maiden Nile Special University Football League title with a commanding but narrow 1-0 victory over Kampala University on Wednesday.
KU were undone by Shafic Ssejjemba’s header in the 35th minute when goalkeeper Simon Tamale failed to make contact with Joseph Bukenya’s out swinging corner. It was due reward for a sustained spell of pressure for the team that are also through to the Uganda Cup quarterfinals where they take on eight-time champions KCC.
The partisan crowd was pleased to see last year’s losing finalists Kyambogo dominate proceedings against the lethargic visitors. Nkozi visit Nkumba today.
