KAMPALA.

Tasked to re-awaken Express’ dwindling fortunes, newly appointed head coach Matia Lule has looked into his inner circle and allegedly brought on board his brothers Alex Gitta and Andy Lule as his deputies.

Lule, who was handed a three-year contact on Sunday, has already briefed the duo about his intense plans to bring the six-time league champions back on the right track.

“I will officially name my two deputies on Wednesday. I have come here to make my childhood club great again and I am confident of achieving that with a good technical team,” vowed Lule.
This will not be the first time the family trident is working together at Express. They did so in the 2009-2010 season, though it didn’t last.

Gitta, who was axed as the head coach recently and temporarily replaced by his then assistant Wasswa Bbosa, openly welcomed the possibility of working under his elder brother again.

“I had decided to take a sabbatical from coaching but now that it is Lule in charge, I have no problem working under him.”

“I know him first as my brother and then as someone with vast experience to take Express to great heights,” revealed Gitta, who like Lule, possesses the coveted Caf A Coaching License.

Express chairperson Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, who demanded that Lule vies for the league title right away, had not terminated Gitta’s one-year contract which makes it easier for his imminent return.
