KAMPALA.

Rwanda Junior Wasps is expected to call up new players ahead of the 2015 African under-17 championship second round qualifier return leg against Cubs on Saturday in Kigali.
The Wasps need to win by at least 5-0 if they are to qualify to the final round having lost the first leg 4-0 at Namboole. Among the additions expected for the Rwandan team is midfielder Gerald Tumwesigye, who was born and raised in Uganda and has featured for the Proline Academy.
The player, whose father is of Rwandan origin was identified by the Rwandese Federation of Association Football (Ferwafa) during the Aspire Qualifiers which were held at Namboole Stadium on June 24.
Aspire is a football academy based in Doha, Qatar that identifies exceptional athletic talent and offers them a student-athlete scholarship within the Academy.
Also on the Academy’s books is midfielder Hassan Senyonjo who alongside three other players were added onto the Cubs team but not in time to feature in the first leg.
“I expected additions to the opponents’ team which is one of the reasons I think the tie is not yet done,” insisted Cubs coach Mathias Lule when sounded out.
Meanwhile midfielder Frank “Zaga” Tumwesigye who was outstanding in the first leg is still struggling with a muscle problem and sat out the weekend training but is expected to recover in time for the game.
