The player played a part in the first goal scored by John Ssemazi before extinguishing any faint hopes Rwanda had of forcing their way into the tie with a sublime volley for the second as Uganda defeated Rwanda 2-0 on Saturday.

After a goalless first hour Miya played in substitute Yunus Sentamu through the inside left channel with the striker setting unselfishly setting up the lively John Ssemazi.

“But am proud of the boys, they showed hunger and desire to play and win against a very good determined side,” he added.

Uganda will visit Egypt July 17–19 before the return fixture on August 1. The winner will then qualify for the Caf U-23 championships due November 28- December 12 in Senegal. The top three teams nations qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.
