Mawejje back to fill Aucho void

KAMPALA. Matches against Ghana have always got the best out of Uganda Cranes and KF Tirana box to box midfielder Tony Mawejje.
His imperious club form in the last three matches in the Albanian league – epitomized by a wonder goal last week – has earned him a recall to face the Black Stars on October 7, thus giving head coach Moses Basena a reliable standby for suspended Khalid Aucho.
Alongside Mawejje, has returned Vietnam based Godfrey ‘Baba’ Kizito who will add steel and agility to Cranes midfield as they gear to recapture the group summit. Striker Edirisa Lubega, based at Austrian first league side Floridsdorfer ASC, is in to bolster the attacking line at the expense of Yunus Sentamu.
Without suspended Murushid Juuko in defence, Basena is set to make a choice amongst Muwanga Bernard, Hassan Wasswa, and Timothy Awany on who to pair with Isaac Isinde.
Cranes, two points of adrift of Group E leaders Egypt (on 9 points), commence training on September 27 at Namboole.
