What you need to know:

Last year, in the first round, Mubs won away 4-0 before walloping the Mbarara side 6-0 in the second round in Kampala.

KAMPALA- Mbarara University of Science and Technology (Must) will be looking for their first win in this season’s Nile Special University Football League against Makerere University Business School (Mubs) when they clash this afternoon in Mbarara.

Must, who are yet to win a game this season are looking at the game seeing how a final as anything less than a win will mean they will not progress to the knock out stages.

In the new round-robin format of the tournament, Mubs only need a win to seal their place in the quarterfinal.

Last year, in the first round, Mubs won away 4-0 before walloping the Mbarara side 6-0 in the second round in Kampala.

However, Must’s coach Salim Twaha has expressed confidence that his team will pull off a shocker against Mubs.

“We had some challenges at the beginning but the team is playing better now. We lost narrowly to KIU last week and this week I am sure the team will get a win,” explained Twaha. “We are still hopeful of qualifying for the knockout stages of the league and to do that we need to win today.”

His opposite number, Charles Ayiekoh, has also called on his team not to take anything for granted and should cement their place in the knockout stages.
“No disrespect to the Mbarara team but we are expecting all three points from the game as we want to finish at the top of the group,” said Ayiekoh.
In a bid to give the players enough rest, Mubs travelled to Mbarara yesterday. Victory will see them move to second position on the log behind leaders Uganda Christian University (UCU) on goal difference.
