Manchester United appear to be closing in on the signing of PSV wonderkid Memphis Depay, according to Sun.

The supremely talented 21 year old winger has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time but Louis van Gaal does face competition for his signature from Liverpool and PSG.

The Sun report that Memphis Depay and his agent Kees Ploegsma have been flown to England for contract talks over an £130,000 a week deal at Manchester United.

Depay played under fellow Dutchman Louis van Gaal at the World Cup and is rumoured to prefer a move to Old Trafford.

A PSV academy graduate, Depay recently won his first league championship in Holland after a youthful PSV ran away with the Eredivisie.

He has racked up at total of 26 goals in all competitions this season and PSV director Marcel Brands recently admitted that the club will sell Memphis Depay this summer.

Brands said, “The chances are very high that he leaves. If you see what clubs are enquiring about him, they really are the best in Europe.

“With a heavy heart [we would let him go], because a great player and a great guy leaves. But we are also proud that a boy from the academy is going to make such a step.”

There are also reports that Louis van Gaal is willing to let Adnan Januzaj join PSV on loan as part of the deal.
