KAMPALA- The only two ladies heading clubs in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) have turned guns against each other, as they bid to represent clubs in the new Fufa executive.
Express chairperson Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi and her Jinja SSS counterpart Dinah Nyango will lock horns in the tight race for Fufa third vice president slot tomorrow at Fufa House.
“The two are the only candidates that picked forms and paid the mandatory Shs500,000 registration fee,” Fufa Electoral Committee chairman Sam Bakiika revealed.

The prospect of facing off with Nakiwala, also the minister of Children Affairs, is one Nyago craves for and ready to win. “The competition will be a very healthy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that and I think I will beat her to that post,” a confident Nyago told Daily Monitor yesterday. Her main agenda is letting the clubs’ voice be heard louder than ever before by the Fufa executive.
“I want to bridge communication gap between the clubs and Fufa. There is no proper flow of information between the league clubs Fufa executive,” she added.

Nyago success
Nyago, also a top official in the Association of Secondary Schools in Uganda (ASCU), has enjoyed success this year with Jinja SSS that hold the national football title (Copa Coca-Cola tourney).
On her part, Nakiwala has been preaching using her ministerial docket to help league players access loans in the national youth livelihood program to tame the biting poverty that is best exemplified by her club.
Her ascendancy to the executive, if voted by the 16 club bosses, could also help narrow the gap between the government and the federation yet it can also reawaken sleeping giants Express that she heads.
