Former Uganda Cranes star, David Obua and KCC players Savio Kabugo and Joseph Ochaya have this evening (Tuesday) been involved in an accident along Masaka-Mbarara highway.

The trio, travelling to Ntungamo for Saturday's Uganda Cup final between KCC and Villa are, however, out of danger.

"Only Kabugo required serious x-medical tests including x-ray but the rest of us left the scene in fine shape," Obua, who has been training with KCC to maintain his fitness levels, told Daily Monitor on phone.

Adrian Lumala, a KCC fan was also on board the KCCA double-cabin pick-up car. The car was badly damaged but its driver also survived without injuries, according to Obua. The KCC team bus, that was trailing Obua's group, evacuated them to hospital in Lukaya. They were later cleared and continued with their journey.

The accident could be an impediment to KCC's Cup aspirations as their opponents Villa have had a calmer build-up. Villa travelled to Ntungamo at the weekend and will have fully acclimatized to the environment when the two teams step out for the game at Kyamate grounds.
