UCU even series, Power aim to sweep Our Saviour

Kampala. Facing the prospect of a clean sweep for the first time in 12 playoff series at the Lugogo MTN Arena, UCU Canons responded in the only way they know how.
The university side routed Pemba Warriors 76-59 to set up a decisive game three on Sunday.
Like their Nick Natuhereza admitted, the current lot is not the strongest of the teams he has coached in his tenure. “You only work with what you have” he said before the game.
What stands out for the current crop, a number of whom has been together for more than two years is togetherness and athleticism.
The latter was needed particularly in the third quarter as they suffocated the two-time champions.

Their zonal defense has been spectacular and it yielded a 20-12 score to add to the 15-10 and 15-11 totals after the first two quarters.
Brian Namake led with 16 points while Fadhili Chuma added 11 and 10 rebounds against the Warriors for whom Jude Ochen’s game high 17 points were in vain. The latter’s 69-65 game one victory seemed like ages ago.
Today, Power can become the first men’s team into the semifinals should they follow up on Sunday’s 84-57 game one win over Our Saviour.
A1 Challenge ensured they are the first team to make the semifinals as they edged Javon Ladies 74-69 to seal a 2-0 series victory in the early evening game on Wednesday. Susan Amito and Victoria Ntale led with 17 and 12 points respectively for A1 Challenge to build on the 61-40 game one result.
