KAMPALA.

The National Under-17 team underlined their intentions of retaining the ongoing Cecafa Under-17 Youth Championship in Burundi with a 3-0 win over Sudan yesterday.
The result helped the Cubs become the first team in Group B to qualify to the next stage in the competition that has been marred by age cheating.
That however will matter little to the Peter Onen coached side who got their goals through a first half brace from Andrew Kawooya and Moses Bakkabulindi.
Bakkabulindi who turns out for Vipers Junior Team in the Fufa Junior League has now scored in successive matches having also scored in the 1-1 opening draw with Tanzania on Sunday.
The second qualification slot will then be decided on Saturday when Tanzania and Sudan face off in the final group game.
This is after Zanzibar, the fourth team in the group was expelled after presenting 12 over-age players, having been born before 2002 which is contrary to tournament rules.
