Ugandan quartet on the verge of joining Tusker FC.
Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Tusker FC are on the verge of signing four Ugandan players. The Simba trio of Robert Omunuk, Khalid Aucho, Martin Kiiza and KCCA’s Andrew Ssekayombya (pic left) are thought to be close to crossing to Kenya.Tusker director Charles Obiny confirmed the development on supersport.com saying they will add steel to the KPL side. “We went to Uganda with coach Robert Matano and settled on the four players since we believe they are talented and are going to be an important part of our plans for both the league and continental matches next season,” said Obiny.
But when Daily Monitor talked to Simba club secretary John Julugo, he said there was work to be done. “Everything hasn’t yet been officially finalised but as soon as the transfers are complete, we shall let the media know,” said Julugo. “The Tusker officials will be back to settle everything before the players move.” The team’s chances of signing Cranes marksman Brian Umony, however, hit a snag after he told the officials he had received better offers from Europe.
