KAMPALA. Vipers will reclaim log leadership if they repeat last season’s feat away to SC Villa this afternoon at Namboole.
The national champions’ arrive at Namboole, where Villa now play their home games after moving from Masala, confident they can stretch their winning run to four matches.

Coach Javier Martinez’s side have won their first three games by a goal and will return top of the table on 12 points today if they remain the only unbeaten team in the 16-team league.

This fixrure last season ended 0-1 in favour of the visitors.
Actually, it was one of the matches that firmly positioned Vipers to charge on and dethrone KCCA by winning their third league title.

“Obviously we know it’s a big game and we are very prepared for it,” said Villa old boy Taddeo Lwanga, who will be intent on ruining any plans Jogoos captain Ambrose Kirya and company might have.
“The challenge is to win the game against a really wounded side that hasn’t got a win since the league started but we are ready for the challenge.”

Coach Moses Basena’s Villa have drawn twice and lost once in their opening three StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) matches, which has them on two points just above relegation.
They come into this on the back of a goalless draw, and have scored only two goals so far - in a 2-2 draw away to Kirinya-Jinja on the opening day.

“The truth is we are not playing poorly when you look at the games,” said skipper Kirya.
“We are doing our best but the results are not coming yet. We just have to continue improving and tomorrow (today) is another opportunity.'

Daniel Sserunkuma scored that goal in Masaka that thrust Vipers into a title-winning run.
The striker opened his account in Vipers 1-0 victory over Nyamityobora on Saturday and will be intent on adding on.
