KAMPALA
The top seeds eased into the last eight on the fourth day of the Castle Lite Uganda Tennis Open at Kampala Club yesterday.
Henry Muyanja continued his fairytale run with a comfortable 6-2 6-2 victory over Eric Isingoma to secure a quarterfinal berth. Another Lugogo stalwart Moses Otiti also earned his first ever spot in the money bracket with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Ernest Kayiranga of Rwanda.
“The courts are soft and wet,” disclosed Otiti, who also opens the bowling for Tornado B Cricket Club. “It was all about keeping the ball on court and applying more pressure.”
Otiti will get his sternest test against two-time winner Mugabe today whereas seed two Jean Claude Gasigwa and top seed David Oringa face Rwandan opposition in the quarters.
