What you need to know:

CAFÉ JAVAS CARGEN HOUSE. The new branch is well-thought out with impeccable standards.

I recall as though it was yesterday when the first Café Javas was opened on Bombo Road and I am quite certain that many doubting Thomas’s thought it was just a passing fancy. Less than a decade later, Café Javas has a revered brand and a household name with no fewer than eight outlets.

Concerted effort
To the unanimated, it all seems routine and ordinary, but underneath that great success and veneer is a lot of effort, determination and focus. Today, without a doubt the Café Javas brand is not only second to none but as a business model is unmatched. Speaking of which it is not about having the bucks and thinking that one can achieve a retail brand specifically in the hospitality industry.

Yes, one can argue that fuel stations such as Total and Shell are brands but running and owning such an enterprise requires no way near the attention to detail that goes into setting up a café.

Strategic
Café Javas at Cargen House is a perfect midtown location being strategically in the CBD. It is bound to be a welcome addition to the brand devotes who are growing daily. Café Javas is one of the few eateries in town where you can order for practically anything on the menu and be assured that it will at your table within 10 minutes. Surely, this is a much welcome and appreciated boon to the diner and we all know how waiting for food can be annoying and irksome.

I’m the first to confess that it helps to have money, but that aside, one must also engage experts ranging from designers, interior decorators, architects, engineers both structural and physical as well as environmental and a host of other key personnel have to be included.

Spacious
One can only wonder why the previous owner of the property never thought of increasing the space by creating a terrace and in so doing double the seating capacity. This was a stroke of genius for such a prime location.

A couple of years ago Café Javas saw it fit to invest in a centralised kitchen which has proven to be an invaluable and wise decision for a myriad of reasons including maximising on economies of scale, standardising and consistency of the product and overall control of all the inputs.

Great ambience
This eatery is on familiar turf with the customary grey pillars, the great alfresco setting, and favourite runners to which we have become accustomed to.

Their legendary Cajun chicken salad or rustica fish fillet and who can ever forget or resist the sinfully delicious chocolate fudge cake.

Needless to say, by the time Café Javas number 8 was ready there was untold synergy and team work already in place.
