In my course of meandering around the Makerere University Business School (MUBS), I came across a nice joint that I thought could easily pass for a guild canteen. It had both a restaurant and a mini bar of sorts.

My first encounter there was in the company of a colleague whom I thought was well versed with eateries around its campus. I was disappointed by the services of the place- Hajjat’s. The sign post outside is very attractive and the workers also seemed to be well trained, but their delivery of services was wanting.
As we entered inside, we were kindly welcomed and showed where to seat, only to be forgotten. It took the waiter 10 minutes to finally bring the menu. Our order arrived more than 30 minutes later. The food had too much salt in it. The only consolation we had was that the eatery was not as crowded as some of the restaurants around the campus. It is very neat and had nice tables and chairs. In addition to that, there was nice music that played in the background. At the end of the day, it seemed like we had only paid for the drinks and music.
