It is one thing to eat good food; it is another thing to know where to find this good food. Kyambogo University does not have any breath-taking restaurants like the one at the Republic Academic Complex (RAC) building overlooking the Senate Building.

Right from the organisation, the great culinary skills and the clientele, this restaurant leaves you in satisfaction. Though mainly patronised by lecturers, it gives you a peace of mind as you water down the well cooked dishes. If I am not mistaken, it is the only restaurant in Kyambogo that offers you a buffet set-up.

What it lacks in comfortable chairs, it compensates with great customer care. Oh my! Should I say they have the best matooke-the one with that firewood aroma? The prices are average. If you part with Shs 4,000, you get to have a plate of food varieties and chicken.

My only wish is that they need to spice up the lunch sessions with some new age music perhaps. It would be a better way to kill off the pre-lunch stress as one gets to head in for another long afternoon. Until it’s service deteriorates, RAC restaurant remains my great kafunda in Kyambogo.
