MY KAFUNDA : What a meal that was
Sec Restaurant and Bar as the owners chose to call it, is located along William Street, opposite M.M plaza. It is simple, decent, well-spaced and most importantly, affordable. I entered and almost immediately, was greeted by a happy face. The waitress was quick to ask me what meal I wanted to be served.
“All food and beans, I guess,” I placed the order, still admiring how well the tables around were arranged.
Within no time, a plate of what I can simply call a “Golola’s kind of meal” was placed before me. Steamy matooke, a bit of posho, plain rice, pilao rice and a bit of kalo. Instead of piling a few lamps of the food in my mouth, I engaged my brain in a debate.
“How was I going to foot this bill?” I thought to myself. “Maybe this was another person’s order? No, but she should have told me the price.”
Still surprising, when the bill was brought before me, all I had to cash in was Shs3000. And then what kept me all the more intrigued was the black and white screen in the corner to my left. You could tell that it probably was the reason as to why the restaurant gets more customers than all those around it.
