Music is a big part of most young people’s lives and many want to become music stars. So when a reality show competition is announced, they take on the opportunity that could hand them a chance to become celebrities. That’s the premise upon which Music & Me, a new musical drama that’s on at Theatre La Bonita every Thursday is set.

Three judges, two gentlemen and a lady, decide the fate of young upcoming singers, who have to prove themselves on stage.

Among the many contestants that turn up, the storyline is narrowed down to a girl, Brenda Nanoono whose first appearance on stage is greeted with scorn given her demeanor, but all that changes when she begins singing, exciting the audience and winning the confidence of the judges.

The acting in the play goes beyond some fairly performed songs to provision of comic relief offered through drama and dialogue.

This is another AMK Production, the same cast that brought you Dancing Queen, another musical based on legendary Swedish group Abba last year. Showtime is 7pm and entrance is Shs10,000 for ordinary and Shs20,000 for VIP seats.
