Fun. Comedy lovers gathered at Forever Resort in Jinja Town for the first ever comedy camp

Not so long ago, most Kampala residents used to travel upcountry to celebrate festivities such as Christmas and Easter.
However, the trend of celebrating and having fun on such days has since changed into modern ways. People today prefer staying in towns instead of travelling to their villages.

Every Wednesday evening, Felix Jesero, a.k.a Dolibondo, holds comedy at Laftaz Comedy Lounge in Centenary Park along Jinja Road, but on March 25, Good Friday, he decided to take comedy to Forever Resort in Jinja Town.
The resort is spacious thus creating room for more activity and fun.

The audience enjoyed rib-cracking jokes from different comedians such as Ronnie Musiimenta a.k.a Ronnie, McVex and Chiko, who started performing at approximately 8.30pm.

The cold breeze from Lake Victoria did not affect the show as most revellers were seated around well-lit camp fires, sipping beers, crate after another since it was an all drinks-on-the-house event.

Nyama Choma also available. The camp comedy was a lovey-dovey event as couples enjoyed each other’s company in Forever Resort gardens, including sharing shawls to shield each other from the cold.
At about 12am, the comedians took a break and so did the audience, who now engaged in playing football and handball while running around in the gardens, until the ball rolled into the lake and nobody could risk diving into the water to get it.

With nothing else to do, they resorted to dancing until the wee hours of the morning when Dolibondo took to the stage to crack some jokes.

Just a few metres from the well-lit stage were camping tents.
If at some point one felt like taking a nap and they hadn’t carried a tent of their own, there were those available for rent at Shs20,000. Camp Comedy was an event full of fun and laughter.
And at about 4am last Saturday morning, revellers were still enjoying the camp fires as they waited for the sun to rise.
Some left the resort for Kampala at 10am.
