Shows popularly known as unplugged or live music are often synonymous with RnB genre. However, last Tuesday, Hip-hop artistes took to the stage to disprove the myth at the National Theatre silent disco space during the Hip-hop unplugged show.

The show was headlined by rapper GNL Zamba of Baboon Forest entertainment label. GNL is one of the pioneers of lugaflow in Uganda. He first performed his old chart-busting hits such as Koi Koi, Omwana w’amwami and Message, among others as the crowd, mainly made of men, kept on cheering him.

Other acts
Other rappers included gospel artiste Edwin Ruyonga, Cyno M.C from the Lugaflow army and Lady Slyke who performed together with her own band, Tushi Polo and Zamunda.

Renowned poet Slim Mc recited a few poems. Moze the beatboxer and a product of Breakdance project Uganda, also wowed the revellers with his art of beatboxing. He also produced different sounds and beats just with his mouth.
Hip hop unplugged is an annual event organised by the Uganda Lyricist Lounge, Youth and Hip-hop project and the Bayimba foundation.
