Comedians, Vampino warm up Jinja

It was a chilly Friday night, more than the usual, in Jinja at Laftaz Comedy Lounge, Dam Waters. As the sun kissed goodbye to the day, a thick dark cloud took over the skies. For a moment, Jinja, known to be a bee-hive of activity in the night, went silent and people seemed to be heading home rather than staying out in the cold.

But as news trickled in that a team from Evervess Bitter Lemon would be in town with some leading comedians and Vampino for a mega show, suddenly the town came to life as hordes descended on Laftaz Comedy Lounge and by 10pm, the place was packed with expectant revellers.

The revellers were treated to rib-cracking jokes from Arthur D’Vaccine, and the ever-popular pair of Snake and Zoro, whose jokes are centred around sexual innuendos.

But the highlight on the night was the performance by Vampino. The one half of the former Benon and Vamposs pair took the revellers through most of his club-bangers and also sampled some of his new projects.

Vampino’s energetic and ground shaking performance featured his deep voiced songs like Love To Dance, Byemere, Kwekunyakunya, among others before he left the stage at 2am. Thereafter, the already worked up crowd danced away the night to the music mixes by the Laftaz Djs. From what looked like it would be a bad night not to remember, it was a night that many talked about the following day on the streets of Jinja.
