FNL ends on a high

Basketball enthusiasts, wannabes and the clueless on Friday thronged YMCA, Wandegeya for the finale of the Friday Night Lights basketball season five that has been taking place for the past two months.
The beautiful girls cheered, not the dunks nor the ‘three pointers’ not even the dribbles of the players, but at the abs of the few tall well-endowed players. Typical of Kampala girls! Others just attended to take selfies with the background of the basketball court. I didn’t get why some girls had their faces down, eyes glued on their smartphones, yet there was action on the courts.
The rest enjoyed the breathtaking final game between Team Amoding and Team Blick. Team Amoding, exhibited true championship. Having gone unbeaten throughout the season, they gave Team Blick a run for their money, beating them by nine baskets. Team Amoding led in almost all the quarters with the game ending 50-41. Funny how artiste, Big Tril was asked to make the ball go through the hoop while seated. And after five chances, he never succeeded in making even one basket. He was advised to keep rapping and to leave issues of the ‘generals to the generals’.
