Early this year, singer Jose Chameleone made a road trip to Karamoja to shoot his Wale Wale video. Before he embarked on the journey, he believed the stereotypes of the region being backward and full of hostile people. When he got there, he was awed by the rich culture the people in the region have and the developments that are taking off.

“The Karimojong have such a rich culture. On the weekends, like you go to the beach, take a trip to Karamoja and see what it has to offer. Thank you honourable Janet Museveni for what you have done for the region,” singer Chameleone told the audience at Kampala Serena Hotel on Thursday where he held his One Man One Million Show.

The first lady who is also minister for Karamoja Affairs, was chief guest and she applauded Chameleone for attaching a good cause to his concert and asked other artistes to be more relevant to society through similar initiatives.

The singer dedicated the concert to raise funds for the improvement of people’s lives in Karamoja.
Throughout his approximately 200 minutes’ performance, Chameleone’s voice remained strong and consistent. He still remembered lyrics of all his songs. It was evident he had rehearsed with the band who put up a good performance as they backed him up.

He served fans to a good ride through his music journey, bringing back memories with songs like Dorotia, Mama Mia, Tobesiga, Beyi Kali, Shida Za Dunia and Jamila, among others that ignited his career during the late 1990s and into the early 2000s.

Chameleone was in a jovial mood and took time off to share jokes on stage with friends like Mola Messe who recorded some of his first songs at White Nile Studio in Katwe. He handed a painting as a gift to the First Lady, Janet Museveni. This was in appreciation of her contribution towards uplifting the lives of people and region of Karamoja.
