Former BBA housemate Goldie Harvey dies

Goldie, whose real name is Susan Oluwabimpe Harvey, 29, a musician from Lagos, Nigeria has passed on.

She died shortly in Lagos after returning from the US where she had attended the 2013 Grammys. She was signed to Kennis Music label and the music label boss’ tweet: "It is with heavy heart that I have to inform you all that Goldie passed this night shortly after arriving in Lagos from LA. May her soul rest in the eternal peace of the Lord," is the only official confirmation of her death.

However, the cause of death is still unknown.
Goldie was a housemate in Big Brother Africa Star Game in 2012 where she met Prezzo, real name Jackson Ngechu Makini, a Kenyan rapper, with whom she had an on-and-off relationship.

They were rumoured to be engaged and planning to tie the knot later this year. In the reality show, she came off as an emotional, kind-hearted and motherly woman, who loved to take care of people.

In her free time, she loved reading, watching Manchester United, playing console games and Scrabble as well as sewing, knitting, drawing and designing.

Her favourite musicians, included Madonna, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Adele, 2Face, D’Banj and P Square.

She is known for her hit song You Know It ft eLDee. Her participation in the Big Brother reality TV show made her more popular as her music enjoyed airplay in more countries.

She also became household name especially in Nigeria. Her video for Say My Name won in the Best Pop Costume category at the Nigerian Music Video Awards in December 2012. She was also honoured with a special recognition at Top Naija Music Awards in the same month.
