It was a winey Sunday

The Sheraton Gardens last Sunday hosted a wine tasting afternoon accompanied by soothing Classical and Jazz music from the Kampala Music School. It was the Kampala Lites 4th Connoissuers Festival.

Compared to last year’s, this edition had a lukewarm attendance. Nontheless, the soothing classical jazz and blues, accompanied by different wines made the sunny Sunday afternoon worthwhile.

The event that was dominated by expatriates, saw Michael Kitanda, a force to reckon with when it comes to the saxophone, blow away minds of many.
He spoke and engaged with the crowd with his musical instrument. The music-free flowing notes and rhythmic tunes compelled the crowd to clap endlessly after he concluded his performance.

The Emily Zada music group on the other hand, collectively put up great performances with jazzy sounds of local tracks such as Bobi Wine and Nubian Li’s Abalungi Balumya.

Upon entry, each guest was given a glass of wine. Many tasted and appreciated but few bought from the stalls. It turned out to be more of a tasting binge as the wine distributors gave out most of the wine to tasters than buyers. In fact, most chaps ended up tasting the same wine more than thrice just to keep their glasses full.

Laville Wines and Spirits, African Wine Traders, and Karuka Agencies were in this edition given platform to display their wines.
