Kirya performed songs off his old albums, Misubaawa and Book of Kirya, something that got the girls amazed. They screamed, cheered, sang along and danced as the man of the night crooned with his soft melodious voice.

Maurice Kirya on Thursday night released his third album titled Mwooyo at his café, The Sound Cup, located in Garden City.

Being a miniature venue, the soul musician’s album release party did not have a big turn up. Girls, who dominated the event, had the lifetime opportunity to take selfies with the singer.

Others just stood around empty cocktail tables chatting the night away. That was before Kirya held the mic to put up an acoustic performance backed by Myko Ouma, a guy who plays the guitar with ease. He makes you think just anyone can play that musical instrument.

Kirya performed songs off his old albums, Misubaawa and Book of Kirya, something that got the girls amazed. They screamed, cheered, sang along and danced as the man of the night crooned with his soft melodious voice.

The album has songs like Busaabala, Nkulinze and Horses In The Sky, with Kirya showcasing an immense amount of diversity on this album.

The bouncy, catchy and heartwarming blend of blues, soul and Rn’B, gives the listener a perfect easy, laidback and at the same time, a cheerful listening pleasure.

The Never Been Loved video, the first single off this album, was also released the same night. The crystal clear picture, camera angling and the location (forest), makes this song a must-listen. During the event, Kirya told his fans that he believes this album will land him a Grammy Award.
