With just a week to the end of the sixth edition of TPF, two contestants (including our very own Kojjo) had to leave the academy on Saturday leaving five contestants battling for the grand prize of Shs150m. Kojjo from Uganda, Hope from Burundi and Phionah from Rwanda performed a rendition of Mulembe Gwa Kirya by Maurice Kirya, it was a great performance even when the sound wasn’t favouring them.

Next on stage was Nyambura from Kenya and Uganda’s finest, Daisy. Performing Kenny Rogers’ Something Inside So Strong, the two song birds had an amazing performance. Nyambura admitted that she felt great performing with Daisy and referred to her as the lady with powerful vocals. All the contestants, led by Hisia from Tanzania wrapped up the show with Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke, Pharell and T.I. After all the performances, the most dreaded moment in TPF came - eviction time, where two contestants had to be sent parking.

Kojjo and Phionah were given the boot from the academy since they collected the least number of votes from East Africa.

All the remaining contestants in the academy stand an equal opportunity to bag the money plus a one year record deal with Universal Music Group in South Africa. It is therefore solely your duty to vote for the contestant whom you believe has immense talent. Keep in mind that voting is the only way to make your contestant a winner. Let us not complain about being cheated, let’s all vote for our Ugandan girl Daisy as many times as we can. Will she bring the money home? Well your votes will determine that.
