What you need to know:

In every good ending, there is always a new beginning

All things come to an end and sadly this time, it was Kwivuga Poetry Session. The monthly poetry night that found abode in Bugolobi-based spot, Gatto Matto, on Thursday drew its curtains with an implicit theme, “Grand Finale”, which must have tipped off the spoken word fans, who turned out in droves.

The event that started a little past 7pm featured high energy musical performances from Santana and rapper Code. Thereafter came saucy poetry from various poets, including Pamela Acayo, whose sheer bluntness in her poem Political Correctness sent more than eyebrows rising.
Roshan Karmali brought a twist to her poetry with the gifted guitar picking of Kaz Kasozi and calmed the excited crowd back to thoughtfulness.

Music performances flowed from artistes like Ruyonga, Raba Daba, who were apt in wowing the crowd. Before the night came to a close, Nunu gathered the entire organising team of the Kwivuga Poetry Session to give a farewell speech to the event. Cedric Babu, the chief executive officer of Kinetic, thanked all in attendance for the support of the event and Heineken, the event’s sponsor.

“In every good ending, there is always a new beginning,” stated Nunu in her speech, subtly giving all hope for a new Poetry Night, maybe by another name, but with all the sass of Kwivuga.
