At 10pm, the curtains were drawn and when they went up, the theatre was filled with loud cheers as they welcomed King Saha. Clad in a white outfit, he emerged from stairs that were placed in the middle of the stage.

Anyone that attended King Saha’s Mulirwana concert at Theatre La Bonita last Friday, will concur that his choice of venue was a very wrong one. The theatre turned out too small for the thousands of Saha’s fans that turned up for his concert.

The general sitting area of the theatre was over-packed by 8pm, prompting the management to lock out several people that queued patiently. The Shs50,000 VIP tickets were the only option and revellers went for them. General tickets sold for Shs20,000.

At 10pm, the curtains were drawn and when they went up, the theatre was filled with loud cheers as they welcomed King Saha. Clad in a white outfit, he emerged from stairs that were placed in the middle of the stage. He was confident as he paced and danced from one side of the stage to the other.

King Saha chose a unique way to kick off his performance, starting with songs from the different artistes that inspire him. He started with Fred Sebatta’s Kyatutonderwa, then Omuyimbi by Madoxx, Remember Me by Lucky Dube, Empisazzo by Philly Lutaaya on which he featured Lydia Jazmine as well as Wanjagala by Judith Babirye.

The crowd went into a frenzy when Saha officially started his play list with Winner. He followed with his 2012 breakthrough hit Signal. Saha was joined on stage by David Lutalo and Ziza Bafana to do Princess and Bantu Baffe respectively. He did other songs like Pretty, Tonfaakko, Suzanna, Sikyakusobola and Tamale Mirundi.

Before Saha, singers including Bebe Cool, Sheeba, Bobi Wine, David Lutalo, AK47, kept the crowd singing and screaming.

At 11pm, Saha was ready to wind up his show, and he did so with a bang, introducing his new release Gundeze, after which he got everyone on their feet as he performed the concert theme song Mulirwana.

Saha proved his might and like he said during a recent Sqoop magazine interview, he is not headed the one hit wonder path.
