Not the best from Radio and Weasel

It is a few minutes past 10pm, the stage lights black out, the UB5 band kicks off with a reverberating sound, the base guitarist, trumpeter and drummer fuse to out a unique sound, the fogs paints the stage white and after two minutes of suspense, the dynamic duo, Mowzey Radio & Weasel take to the stage serenading one of their latest releases, Street Lights.

The stage is lit up amid hysterical cheers from the crowd. The duo is donned in traditional Scottish attire with a twist (a suit and a Highland dress). Radio in black and Weasel in maroon. The artistes’ sense of fashion (that were styled my Sylvia Owori) left many fans flabbergasted.

The fashion definitely made a statement. Their performance, however, did not. The duo arguably delivered a mediocre performance during their best of Radio & Weasel concert last Friday at Hotel Africana. Coordination between the two artistes was lacking.

Their engagement with the crowd was not the best. It got worse when Mowzey Radio continuously paused his performance to attack his new nemesis, bivulu promoter Balaam Barugahara, who had their business manager, Lawrence Labejja, arrested on the day of the concert.
Labejja allegedly obtained money from Balam for Radio & Weasel’s performance in Gulu but the duo never performed.

“There are two idiots who are trying to stop the show. Balam and Hon Katoto Hatwib you took a lot of money from me but you won’t succeed in stopping this show. I feed you. We make money for you,” the singer said before performing their single Nkwetaga.
Radio, in the course of his performance, kept asking the band to “low.....low”, asking them to lower the volume of the music, before bursting out, “Katoto you’re an idiot.

We know you’re trying to sabotage the show. We are sorry for you two crazy idiots,” while Weasel was standing next to the band.
The fans evidently got bored with the whole drama and asked him to sing.
Before the first session ended, Jose Chameleon joined the duo and performed Bomboclat, a song he recorded with his brother Weasel while he was still in the Leone Island Camp.

Bobi Wine, Fille, Maro, Mun*G, Pallaso among others performed at this event. Juliana Kanyomozi and Bebe Cool did not perform as advertised.
