Radio, Weasel summoned over defamation

The High Court in Kampala has issued criminal summons ordering two artistes belonging to the Goodlyf singing group; Moses Ssekibogo aka Mowzey Radio and Douglas Mayanja aka Weasel to file their defence on allegations that they defamed their former manager and producer Jeff Kiwanuka.
Through his lawyers of Muwema and company advocates, Jeff Kiwanuka commonly known as Kiwa wants court to order the duo to pay him damages for allegedly uploading a video on their official Facebook page accusing him of practicing witchcraft in June this year.
Kiwa says that being a senior producer with a clean 14 (fourteen) year record, he seeks further orders from court that the duo is permanently barred from uttering any such defamatory statements against him.
The court's deputy Registrar Alex Ajiji has given the two musicians up to 15 days within which to file their defence.
