Requiem mass for Juliana's son at All saints Cathedral starts
Uganda’s finest R‘n’B song bird Juliana Kanyomozi’s only child, Keron Raphael Kabugo will today be laid to rest at the father’s ancestral home in Kiryagonja, two kilometres off Matugga town centre.
Before burial, a funeral service will be held at All Saints Cathedral starting at 8am till 11am. This requiem mass is organised for the singer’s fans, family, friends, Keron’s friends and the general public.
“We shall have speeches from the family, government officials, fellow musicians and other dignitaries. Immediately after the service, we will proceed to Kiryagonja where Keron will be laid to rest,” Balam Barugahare, a renowned concerts organiser.
Balam describes the late Keron as “sharp and crazy. He used to ask hard and challenging questions and on top of that, so social. He liked hanging around people more than his mother,” he recollects.
A two day vigil and mourning took place at the residence of Mr Misusera Kabugo,( Keron’s grandfather) in Bunga Kawuku next to Kawuku Church of Uganda and at Juliana Kanyomozi’s place in Lungujja where mourners where warned against taking pictures of the body.
Keron, 11, was a Primary Six pupil at Aga Khan Primary School who was left with just one year to join Cambridge. He breathed his last on Sunday morning at the Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi where he was battling asthma.
