The Ebonies fly out for shows in London, Dubai

Local drama group The Ebonies on Tuesday flew out of the country ahead of shows in in London and Dubai. They will be staging a play titled Entunnunsi (the pulse) which will also feature performances by top artistes Mowzey Radio and Weasel, who had their ban to travel to United Kingdom (UK) lifted thanks to efforts by their lawyers Katende, Ssempebwa and Co. Advocates. John Katende, a partner in the law firm, is director of The Ebonies.

The duo was banned from travelling to UK in 2009 after what they called scams by their then managers. The ban which was supposed to end in 2019. Also performing during the Entunnunsi fetes are Bobi Wine, David Lutalo, Catherine Kusasira and King Saha.

The Ebonies together with the artistes will perform this Saturday, 23rd at Troxy Theatre 490 Commercial road in London E1 in Birmingham and at The Drum Theatre, 144 Potters Ln, in West midlands at Majestic Theatre in Bur – Dubai

There will follow these with other shows here, at Theatre La Bonita in September on 12, 13 and 14th at 7pm for all that weekend. The Ebonies are one of Uganda’s oldest stage outfits that started out as a musical group in the mid-1970s. today they fuse drama, music and dance.
