Undercover brothers light up poetry night

Despite being evicted from the Tusker Project Fame competition last year, Undercover Brothers haven’t abandoned their music career.
Last Saturday, they exhibited this to an audience that had filled up the National Theatre auditorium at the Open Mic Uganda monthly poetry event.
Dubbed Fusion 360, this edition blended music and poetry to enable revellers get a more entertaining experience.
Poetry recitals ushered in the events of the evening with various people portraying their creativity and mastery in spoken word. Love and relationships were the dominant themes.
However, Charles Olupot’s piece exploring the life of people who live in the “ghetto” and how they too can transform the nation, was quite impressive.
The Undercover Brothers performed during the intervals. Jay Mulungi perfected the guitar strumming and his co-singer Timothy Kirya delivered the songs melodically in an attractive form.
Their songs and renditions like Ntawa, Kilalu, Nabirya, Diamond, among others, reflected the evening’s theme.
