In Summary

Coloured shoes. Many young men these days are taking more risks with style and many of them are taking it a notch higher by daring to step out in bright bold colours. This has even extended to the shoes. They say a good outfit is either made or destroyed by the shoes.

Men are wary when it comes to colour and always opt to play it safe with black or brown when it comes to shoes. News flash though, is that coloured shoes are big today. Fashion designer, Xenson Senkaaba, of Xenson Fashion House, says “Many men are yet to embrace the coloured shoes that are available for them in the fashion world today.
Depending on the statement you want to make, coloured shoes make a very big fashion statement.” He also notes that there are an increasing number of men taking interest in how they look.

However, you need to realise that your success in looking your best does not depend on the details you add, but how you match your outfit, explains Xenson. Xenson also adds when a man’s outfit is generally made up of neutral colours then bright coloured shoes can be matched with small details like the tie, or belt of the same colour.

If you opt to colour block, which is basically wearing bold colours together, Solomon Tazibone, a fashion designer and stylist for Sylvia Owori, emphasises that men have to tone it down a little bit unlike women who can mix and match any colours. He gives an example of how yellow shoes would go perfectly with white trousers, grey top and green belt. Nonetheless, it is recommended that men stick to a minimum of three colours when trying to colour block.

Shafic Kasekende, designer and owner of Hi Style Gents, warns that the bright coloured shoes might not be appropriate to wear to work so one had best save them for the casual look or dress down Friday.

Gladly the shoes don’t have to match the trouser much as how you wear them depends on personal style besides how you use them also depends on the purpose as many are worn as sports shoes and moccasins. Your best bet would be with jeans. Do not be shy go ahead and be adventurous.
