Scores of fine looking young girls on Saturday flocked Mackinnon Suites, Nakasero, for Miss Uganda pre-selection. A first step to the coronation of the finest girl in the country.

Bright smiles, coupled with a perfected catwalk were just not enough to impress the judges. One had to be with vast knowledge in agriculture and cultural issues; since this year’s theme is "Making and promoting agriculture entrepreneurship attractive to young women in Uganda".

“On average, we had over 10 girls selected from Eastern, Northern, and Central region. Today, we have over 100 girls from Masaka, Mukono and of course Kampala, vying to represent the central region. Also, girls from other regions who did not make it to the regional pre-selection got a chance to audition today,” Janet Nalugya, Project Coordinator, Miss Uganda said.

With Miss Uganda Foundation unveiling final contestants tomorrow, the girls who auditioned are left in suspense wondering if their dream still lingers on.
